Overview

Status

The project remains in active development. Ongoing work includes brand bible development, art direction refinement, gameplay UX iteration, design system expansion, and prototype validation.

Context

An original deckbuilding game currently in active development. I partnered with the game’s creator to help define the product vision, player experience, visual identity, and design systems during pre-production.

Problem

Create a distinctive and scalable game experience within a highly competitive genre while establishing a clear visual identity, gameplay presentation framework, and production-ready design direction.

Process

My responsibilities span market research, product positioning, brand strategy, art direction, UX design, wireframing, interface design, prototyping, and design documentation.

Working from early gameplay concepts, I helped define the game’s visual language, developed a comprehensive UI framework, created interactive prototypes for testing and validation, and established a foundational brand bible to guide future development.

Solution

Developed a cohesive visual and interaction framework to support the game’s long-term development. Deliverables included UX wireframes, interface systems, interactive prototypes, visual direction exploration, foundational brand guidelines, and documentation designed to align design and development efforts throughout pre-production.

To accelerate concept exploration, AI-assisted imagery was used as a visualization tool for evaluating art direction and communicating design intent. These assets were used exclusively for prototyping and visual development.

The final production artwork is being created as custom pixel art, which I am personally art directing and illustrating as development progresses.
