Overview
Context
For the LA Gladiators' 2021 Overwatch League season, I led art and creative direction across social content, merchandise, photography, video assets, and motion graphics—while refreshing the team's brand foundations.
Problem
The team needed a cohesive visual system that could scale across a full season of content without losing identity. Esports moves fast—the brand had to be consistent enough to hold up across every touchpoint without requiring constant creative oversight.
Process
I established the creative direction and refined the brand foundations, then directed a designer through execution—translating the Gladiators' identity into social templates, merch concepts, motion elements, and media assets that could run on autopilot once the system was set.
Impact
The 2021 package delivered a polished, consistent identity across social, motion, photography, video, and consumer merchandise sold through the official OWL store and multiple retail channels, and gave the organization a visual foundation that held up all season.
